On April 20, Dr. Gerry Lewis announced that he is stepping down as Senior Pastor to become the Director of Missions of Harvest Baptist Association. He will conclude his 17 year ministry as Senior Pastor of EMBC on Sunday, May 18, 2008. Beginning June 1, he will begin his new ministry with HBA www.harvestba.com
The Staff Development Team of EMBC is at work to begin the transition process and will keep the church posted on the progress. A transition prayer team began meeting on Wednesday, May 7 and will meet each Wednesday at 6:30 p.m. in the Worship Center to pray for God's direction. Anyone who would like to come and pray is welcome to do so.
